Pediatric Nurse Manager positions in Upper Midwest!

A leading Academic Medical Center in the Upper Midwest with a culture isseeking candidates with pediatric and leadership experience to serve as Nurse Managers (2) for a Pediatric Medical-Surgical Unit and for a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit. The Nurse Managers will plan and manage the clinical and administrative operations of a 32 bed unit. This is a superb opportunity to be a part of a team renowned for advanced technology and breakthrough treatments.

 Department Focus Pediatric Medical-Surgical Unit

  • 32 bed Unit with all private rooms; approximately 100 staff
  • Patient population range: Infant to Young Adult. Primary services admitting patients here are trauma, nephrology, kidney transplant, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, rehabilitation and general medical patients including stable patients on a ventilator. 

Department Focus Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit

  • 32 bed Unit with all private rooms; approximately 100 staff
  • Patient population range: Infant to Young Adult with a wide variety of Hematology and Oncology Needs.

  • Ability to work successfully with administrators, peers, physicians and subordinates.
  • Experience with implementation of initiatives resulting in a positive impact on patient care
  • Experience with change management process. 

Position Focus Nurse Managers

  • Develop unit objectives and ensure their consistency with regulatory standards and integrated with Nursing Service goals; consult and support the setting of priorities in program development.
  • Implement optimal staffing schedule that meets care requirements and is responsive to changing patient activity and acuity.
  • Assess nursing staff performance; develop staff development programs and workshops.
  • Actively collaborate in the development of annual budgets, managing and providing variance reporting. 

Requirements Nurse Managers

  • RN with a Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business or comparable field (Juris Doctor Degree may be considered)
  • BSN is required if Master's is not in Nursing
  • Management experience in tertiary care environment, at Supervisor level or above
  • Pediatric experience required; Oncology experience required for Hem-Onc position.
